FYI I actually use Kubuntu but I upgraded all my Kubuntu systems just fine using the Ubuntu CD.
The working, 3D accelerated xorg.conf from my IBM Thinkpad T22:
# xorg.conf (X.Org X Window System server configuration file)
#
# This file was generated by dexconf, the Debian X Configuration tool, using
# values from the debconf database.
#
# Edit this file with caution, and see the xorg.conf manual page.
# (Type "man xorg.conf" at the shell prompt.)
#
# This file is automatically updated on xserver-xorg package upgrades *only*
# if it has not been modified since the last upgrade of the xserver-xorg
# package.
#
# If you have edited this file but would like it to be automatically updated
# again, run the following command:
# sudo dpkg-reconfigure -phigh xserver-xorg

Thank you so much! Just got the video card properly configured in my T21 after months of pain thanks to you :-)
FYI I figured it out by reading through /var/log/Xorg.0.log after a failure and comparing the detected and configured values to the real values according to lspci and the technical specification for the laptop and reading a lot of man pages starting at Xserver.
I really love you!
Hours and hours of troubles and now it works like a charm! thak you!!!

Hi i'm using T22 with Ubuntu 10.10 I tried your xorg.conf but it doesnt't work. When I run glxgears it reboots my X server. If you have any idea how to modify the xorg.config please let me know.
Thank you in advance.
